Dan Hardy took to Twitter recently and teased a Muay Thai bout with kickboxing legend, John Wayne Parr. The 10 time world kickboxing champion, Parr appeared interested in the potential bout.

Following a tweet from ONE Championship, Dan Hardy replied saying, ‘Cage Muay Thai sounds fun’.

In reply to this, Parr responded with the following:

Hardy reacted to this, replying to Parr and suggesting that he has huge respect for the Aussie legend and would be extremely interested in a potential Muay Thai bout, inside the cage.

Dan Hardy

Dan Hardy hasn’t competed inside the octagon since back to back wins in 2012. He found out he was suffering from Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome, leading to his early retirement. Prior to this, ‘The Outlaw’ lost four on the spin after his title shot. Since then, he’s transferred into an analyst and commentator role.

His commentator role hasn’t been without controversy, however. He got into hot water following a dispute with Herb Dean. Dean appeared to let a fight go longer than necessary and Hardy, as a commentator, shouted for the fight to be stopped. Hardy released a full statement on his YouTube channel, however, it has since been deleted.

He’s regularly hinted at a combat from combat sports, however, has retained his interest will only be peaked if the fight makes sense and the opponent interests him.

John Wayne Parr

John Wayne Parr has competed in over 130 kickboxing bouts during his long career. From Bellator to Rizin and most recently under ONE Championship, Parr is certainly well travelled. Unfortunately for the Australian, he hasn’t picked up a win since 2017 and has lost three on the spin. Don’t let that take away from his legacy, however. He’s without a doubt one of the best to ever do it.

John Wayne Parr has five fights left on his current ONE contract having signed a six fight deal back in March 2020.
