Jung Chan Sung, better known as the Korean Zombie will take on Dan Ige in a firefight at UFC Vegas 29 this weekend.
The two featherweights will headline the event and the fights will take place inside the UFC Apex Facility in Las Vegas. “50K” Ige lived up to his nickname with a 22-second knockout right-cross KO against Gavin Tucker that dropped just about everyone’s jaw last June. Since then, Ige has been waiting in the wings for a top opponent’s availability to open up.
Interestingly, The Korean Zombie is on a different trajectory as it stands and is looking to rebound after a loss to Brian Ortega. While the UFC is not always known for pairing winners and losers, no one can deny the excitement this fight brings to the table.

Dan Ige enters this bout with a professional record of 15-3. While the fighter is sometimes at a disadvantage when it comes to size and reach, “50K” makes up for it with his power. Ige is such an exciting striker to watch because of his ability to close the distance in a blink of an eye. With such high-twitch quickness, he often catches opponents while they are sleeping at the wheel, per se.
The Korean Zombie has a record of 16-6 and has always been just an inch away from a title shot. After losing to Ortega last October, surely that feeling was amplified. The featherweight was outstruck more than double by Ortega, where many expected Zombie to have the advantage should it stay standing. Although, with a 7-month stretch to heal up and recover from the loss, fans might see the best Zombie ever come fight night.

As of this writing, former featherweight king Max Holloway just withdrew from his informal number one contender’s bout with Yair Rodriguez. Additionally, the report states it was due to an undisclosed injury. While the organization is looking to rebook the fight, without a doubt that adds more pressure to this pivotal featherweight matchup.
In the end, the fight will likely be contested while standing, so fans have a right to be extra excited to see these two throw down. After all, with Holloway’s withdrawal, it opens the floodgates for one of these men to have a brilliant performance and perhaps slot their name at the top of the featherweight landscape.
