UFC middleweight Darren Stewart has been discussing Khamzat Chimaev‘s power. Chimaev boasts an impressive record of 9-0-0 and has finished all three of his UFC opponents in dominant fashion.

Speaking to AbzTalkz, Stewart revealed that Chimaev squeezed a filling out of his mouth with a nasty neck crank.
“Look here, bro, the guy took a filling out of my tooth, just by cranking my neck. He’s so strong bruv. You could sit there and say “it’s not about strength” and this. Brother, he’s so technical and so strong’.
It’s not just Chimaev’s grappling that caused Stewart pain during their sparring sessions. The Brit also revealed that Chimaev’s kicking game is stronger than we have seen as of yet in the octagon.
“Bruv, this guy body kicked me, bro, I was out. Ice pack on my ribs”.
Hype or Hazard
Khamzat Chimaev’s power and impressive performances have earnt him the #15 spot in the UFC welterweight rankings. However, he will face his toughest test to date when he takes on number three ranked contender Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 185. Edwards represents a significant step up in calibre of opponent for the Swede. However, perhaps surprisingly, Chimaev has opened as a -170 favourite over the veteran. Edwards vs. Chimaev is an excellent matchup and fight fans around the world will be eagerly anticipating the bout during the leadup to 2021.
