Glory 76: Badr vs. Benny Preview

Glory Kickboxing finally makes the long-awaited return on Saturday 12/19. Badr Hari headlines Glory 76 against Benjamin Adegnuyi. Hari, a legend in the sport of kickboxing, returns to the ring after a year-long absence. In his last outing, Hari, alongside Rico Verhoeven, shattered attendance records for Glory. With a series of unfortunate events, Glory was hit hard by the pandemic in 2019. With Glory 76 set to happen and the announcement of Glory 77 on 1/30, the promotion is looking to rebound with a strong couple of months.

Glory 76 Preview

Benjamin Adegnuyi is ranked #2 in Glory’s heavyweight division. “Benny” possesses a three-fight win streak and a win on Saturday could secure him a title opportunity.  Adegnuyi is an 18-fight Glory veteran and has faced off against the toughest the promotion has to offer. However, Adegnuyi has not competed with anyone that has the pedigree like Badr Hari.

In the co-main event of the evening, Welterweight champion Cédric Doumbé defends his title against Karim Ghajji. The original challenger was supposed to be #1 ranked Murthel Groenhart. However, Groenhart pulled out of the fight due to an injury. “The Best” as Doumbé considers himself, is a heavy favorite leading up to the fight. Ghajji, who’s only 1-4 in his Glory career is currently unranked. He last competed in the promotion in 2015 when he lost via decision to Groenhart.

The main card features the 2019 Glory Newcomer of the Year, Antonio Plazibat. The Croatian is 3-0 in the promotion, with all three of his victories coming in 2019 by decision. Plazibat is ranked #5 in the division and is set to compete against #9 ranked Nordine Mahieddin. Mahieddin is 2-2 in the promotion and is on a two-fight win streak.

How to Watch

Glory 76 is not available on Fight Pass like previous events. However, it is available on Fite TV in the United States. It currently costs $14.99. The event begins at 3pm ET/ 12pm PT.
