iKON Fight Federation has ended 2020 with a lightning strike for iKON 4. With six of the seven fights ending before the final bell and a majority only lasting one round, the event went by like a flash. The event took place in Sonora Mexico again. Kayla Hracho’s Quick Turn Around Pays Dividends
2020 hasn’t been the best year for most people. Yet, for Kayla Hracho it’s produced wins in her pro career. Hracho came into this fight with a 2-2 record following her previous submission win over Jessica Solis at iKON 3. That fight ended quickly in the first round and afterward, she said she wanted to get back in as soon as possible. So here she was earning her second win in a calendar month by technical knockout. Her fight at iKon 3 ended so quickly we didn’t get to see her full MMA game. This time now she got the chance to show her boxing, her wrestling ability, and her will. All three she has in spades. She sure is a talent to watch and still young in her career.
The Purple Belt Aussie Earns his First MMA Win
Issac Thompson had his pro debut but from the way he fought, you couldn’t tell. He was extremely technical facing Luis Garcia. They were trading at first but Thompson seemed to be leading the dance and even scored a takedown at the end of the first. He went back to the well in the second round and established back mount and started laying down heavy ground and pound for the 4:20 TKO. This Australian-born fighter can go very far in iKON promotion especially with a camp-like Team Alpha Male behind him.
The Sub of the Night Goes to… Alex Martinez!
Even though this wasn’t the main event fight, all MMA fans should show respect when they see something new or special. Alex Martinez deserves some recognition earning a standing high elbow guillotine in the first round. This particular move is very difficult to pull off in training not to mention in a live fight with an opponent who is also trying to hurt you as well. The way he led Ramirez into the trap was particularly skillful letting him get up and slowly wrapping his left arm under the neck of Ramirez. Switching his grip and finishing with the higher elbow to seal the choke tight. Beautiful technique respect.
Bella Mir Shows why She’s the Main Event
At first glance, any MMA fan would be skeptical of seeing a 1-0 fighter in the main event slot for iKON 4. In this case, though, it was well deserved. 17-year-old Bella Mir, daughter Frank Mir, is showing herself to be a true prospect. The vibes she was sending off reminds one of a young undefeated Ronda Rousey at Strikeforce. The way she put away Alma Cespedes, it was clinical and almost identical to the way she won her first fight- starting out swinging on the feet eventually getting the takedown. This one ended quickly in the first though. Eventually, she maneuvered her way onto the back and got the rear-naked choke. Her potential fighting with iKON is through the roof!
Final Thoughts
iKON 4 was like eating ice cream on a hot summer day. It was enjoyable, sweet, and when it’s done you wish you had another. iKon Fight Federation ended 2020 on a high note. Hopefully, they can keep this momentum going. Preferably with fans in 2021 (fingers crossed). The fans cant wait to see what they have to put on next.
