iKon 5 Results

iKon 5 results are in and we’ve got you covered! iKon Fighting Federation 5 is the first card of 2021 for the promotion. Once again the iKon promotion constructed a great card for the MMA fans watching on Fight Pass. It has been almost three months since iKon 4 in Mexico. Everyone had to knock the dust off at first but once the event was in full swing it was a great watch. The event took place in Biloxi, Mississippi with a full house of spectators inside the Biloxi Civic Center. It was concerning with Covid-19, but it was awesome to hear real fans cheering on these deserving fighters once again.

iKon 5 Results – Women making their mark

The iKon Fighting Federation has been known to give women their chance to in the spotlight on their cards. Back at iKon 4, Bella Mir was the headliner of the event. So it came as no surprise when the fight card was released and it was equally represented by 4 men’s and women’s fights, but it should still be commended.

Two fighters that should be highlighted are the two women that have made debuts both getting finishes within the first round with ease. Remember the names of Griffin Fisk and Macy Breaux. These two women are now both want to know and how amazing debuts with dominant performances on the ground I’m looking forward to seeing them in more iKon events and further.

iKon 5 Results – It was Jason Knight’s Night

It was his main event. The fight card is taking place in his home state. The crowd was extremely positive towards him and he gave them the performance they desired. The night could have been taken right out of a best-selling book.

Jason hasn’t fought since 2018 when he was cut from the UFC for losing four fights in a row. After a brief stint at BKFC, he wanted to make a comeback into MMA. Where better than his Homestate of Mississippi? To add to this real narrative he had to deal with a short notice opponent that he did not prepare for.

Knight landed a strong 1-2 combo earning a knockdown 15 seconds into the first round. Cliff Wright put up a good fight in the first round going back and forth with Jason Knight on the ground. Still, Knight would not be denied. In the second round, Knight stuffed Wright’s takedown and scrambled to the back for the classic rear-naked choke.

iKon 5 Results – Honorable Mentions

There were so many great fights tonight I don’t want to leave anyone who deserves it unmentioned. AJ Fletcher put up an explosive performance on Wesley Golden. Getting an immediate knockdown after blocking Wesley’s kick then taking no time off getting the submission.

Isis Verbeek seemed like a woman on a mission tonight. With trainer Michael Babb and UFC Heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik in her corner, she is well assisted. Though facing adversity she persevered. Showing her dominance striking as well as transitioning on the ground and keeping Wong from scoring.

Lastly, the co-Main Event should be mentioned. Socrates Pierre put up a world-class performance on the ground. Finding the takedown in each round pummeling Harris Stephenson. In the 3rd he found the submission he was looking for.

iKon 5 Results – Final Thoughts

It was a great return for the promotion starting off 2021 in good form. Keep in mind this week the promotion unveiled the golden iKon belt on their Instagram. Pearl Gonzalez was also holding the belt tonight in the opening scene of the commentary desk. It’ll be interesting to see who gets the opportunity to be the Inaugural Champion for this promotion and how many championship belts there will be in iKon and at what weights. This shows that promotion is maturing. The fans can’t wait to see what iKon has in store for the rest of 2021.
