In the iKON FC 2 headliner, Sedriques “SD” Dumas (5-0) looks to remain undefeated in a battle with tenured MMA veteran Aaron Highbaugh (9-5). Florida’s Dumas, is an electric talent who burst onto the regional scene within the last two years. The 26-year-old is a vicious striker who throws every strike with fight ending intentions. In his five pro bouts, all of his wins have come by finish, four of which by violent knockout.
In Dumas’ last outing, he landed a picture perfect high kick sleeping DeWitt Dixon in under a minute at Jorge Masvidal’s iKON FC 1. Aside from his sneaky high kicks, Dumas sets up high power right hand with heavy low kicks. Everything about SD Dumas screams future star however, he will have to get through his toughest test yet in Aaron Highbaugh to prove that to the world.
Indiana’s Highbaugh is set for his second main event with Jorge Masvidal’s iKON FC after suffering a decision loss to UFC veteran Jared Gooden just over two months ago. The 36-year-old is known for his well-rounded ability and willingness to throw down with anyone. Prior to his defeat in January, he had won three of his last four, two of which by finish.
Highbaugh has scored a victory over Bellator veteran Josh Streacker and has shared the cage with the likes of Cameron VanCamp and Khaos Williams. Highbaugh has held two titles as a pro and looks to make a case for a third with a convincing win tonight. In a battle between two game opponents, it would not be a surprise if the judges do not get involved in this one.
Two former major organization members meet in the iKON FC 2 co-main event as Bellator vet Keith Richardson (21-11) squares off with UFC vet Hunter Azure (9-2). The 38-year-old Richardson has a resume that most on the regional scene can’t compete with. He has shared the cage with Patchy Mix, Charles Rosa, Nate Landwehr and Tony Gravely. Richardson has also secured victories over Daniel Straus, Da’Mon Blackshear and Andrew Whitney.
The co-owner of Modern Warrior MMA in Rock Hill, South Carolina, has been on a roll as of late scoring three straight victories, all of which by finish. In his 32 pro bouts, he has scored 14 finishes and has been to decision just eight times. It is no secret Richardson is a tough test for any bantamweight on the regional scene.
Fight Ready’s Hunter Azure is fresh off a departure from the UFC. After going 2-2 with the promotion, it came as quite a surprise that he was let go. In his last bout, he lost a split decision to the undefeated Jack Shore at UFC Vegas 23. Azure is a high-level martial artist with notable knockout power. Along with Jack Shore, he has shared the cage with Brian Kelleher and he’s scored wins over Brad Katona and Cole Smith. At 30-years-old, Azure is in his prime and has surrounded himself with a top-level camp. With a win tonight, it could be inevitable Azure gets another call up to a major organization.
Other notable names on the iKON FC 2 card include TUF Brazil 4 member Eduardo Diez (8-1), UFC veteran Justin Scoggins (12-6), the owner of combat sports’ fastest knockout, Uly Diaz (2-0), and decorated kickboxer Alexey Fedoseev (2-0).
