Johan Ghazali promises to showcase a more complete striking game when he battles Diego Paez in flyweight Muay Thai action at ONE Fight Night 32. Johan Ghazali Switches Camps Ahead of ONE Fight Night 32
The clash with Paez marks Johan Ghazali’s first fight following a complete training camp at Superbon Training Camp. The young striker’s evolution has been accelerated by working alongside decorated veterans. Despite coming up short against undefeated powerhouse Johan Estupinan in January, Ghazali displayed flashes of refined technique that hint at his massive potential.
“I’m good. I’m very good. I think I can fight tomorrow. I’m fit and ready to go. Superbon’s been watching over my training a lot. He has been holding pads for me, so it’s different. I wanna say a lot is different, but there are some things that have changed since the last fight camp, and I know that Superbon really wants me to win because he’s been training me hard. So, yeah, I’m ready. I can fight tomorrow,” Johan Ghazali said to ONE.

The full-time camp has offered contrast between his abbreviated camp for Estupinan and comprehensive preparation for ONE Fight Night 32. Ghazali is excited to reveal new dimensions of his striking arsenal. When the bell rings in Bangkok, the Malaysian-American is planning to put on a show.
“[Against Estupinan] there were bits and pieces of Superbon, Nong-O, and Petchtanong’s game all in there. And that was me only in a two-month camp. It was short, and I had to rush through the lessons at the gym. They started teaching me a bunch of new things that I had never tried before. So while I did feel like I did pretty well in that fight with a bit of changes to my style, I know where my shortcomings were. But, for this fight, you’ll see a much better version of that, just much more advanced in this next fight,” Ghazali detailed.
Johan Ghazali Fine-Tuning His Gameplan
While Johan Ghazali continues developing more techniques, he remains committed to the aggressive, fan-friendly approach that has made him a star. However, he is hoping to avoid getting drawn into a firefight. While he wants to end with a new highlight, Ghazali equally wants to showcase his patience.
“I’m always on the hunt for the knockout. I’ll always be a pressure fighter, but I’ll definitely be more technical in this fight. You’ll definitely see more skills, more feints, more fakes, and more usage of all my weapons. But that doesn’t mean I will change my ways. I’ll always be the pressure fighter. And when I’m pressuring my opponents, you know that the knockout will always come — at least that’s what I hope to get in this fight, as always,” the teen admitted.
Johan Ghazali Ready to Rumble vs. Diego Paez Friday Night
As he prepares to face Paez, Johan Ghazali is brimming with confidence. He hopes to take lessons learned in and out of the ONE Championship ring and apply them to this U.S. primetime performance. Ghazali does not want to just hit the next level as a star, he hopes to breakthrough into title contention.
“I’m coming for the knockout. I’m gonna put the pressure on. I’ve been training hard as hell, and it would be a shame for me not to put the pressure on, so I’m gonna make him feel it. I know my power will prevail, but at the same time, despite my confidence, I won’t underestimate his power. Not that I’m respecting it or what, but I just would rather stay humble and see what comes my way in this fight,” Johan Ghazali concluded.
ONE Fight Night 32 airs live on Friday, June 6, on Prime Video. The action begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.
