KSW 72 Results

Two of KSW’s top-tier welterweights are set to clash in the main event of KSW 72 on Saturday, July 23, 2022. The event is set to take place in Kielce, Poland, in the Amfiteatr Kadzielnia. KSW’s #2-ranked welterweight, Tomasz Romanowski, will face-off with the #5-ranked Andrzej Grzebyk. A dangerous standup fighter, Romanowski has earned five KO/TKO victories in his career. Since 2015, Grzebyk’s only two losses in that timeframe (10-2) have dealt with his knee. The first was due to a broken leg at KSW 56 then suffering a kneebar submission loss in his last outing at KSW 67 in February. The event can be seen in Poland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia by way of Viaplay. Elsewhere, the event can be seen on KSWtv.

MAIN EVENT PREVIEW

A former double-champion in FEN, Grzebyk will enter Saturday’s contest hoping to show the world his loss was a minor setback in his run toward welterweight gold. Though he is 2-2 in KSW, both of those wins have come by knockout wins. The first KSW loss was due to injury and his most recent was a kneebar. A dangerous striker like his opponent, 11 of Grzebyk’s career 18 wins have come by KO/TKO. If Grzebyk is able to return to his form prior to his injury, there is no doubt he can make a successful title run.

Across the cage will stand KSW’s #2-ranked Romanowski who is looking for his third straight win, currently with a KSW record of 3-1. With experience in both FEN and Babilon MMA, Romanowski is hoping to make a title push in the country’s biggest MMA organization. Able to control the pace and dictate the action, nine of his career victories have come by decision with another six coming by the finish, five by KO/TKO. This matchup will have huge future implications on who the next title challenger will be for the welterweight gold.
