LFA 134 Results

Legacy Fighting Alliance returns to action later this evening with a stacked LFA 134 card that is set to conclude with a bantamweight main event of Muin Gafurov vs. Herbeth Sousa. Both fighters are making their LFA debut.

Fight fans can stream the action live from Belton, Texas, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT over on UFC Fight Pass.

LFA 134 Results

Gafurov comes to the LFA fresh off a fight on last season’s Dana White Contender Series when he lost a tightly-contested split decision to Canadian Chad Anheliger. A native of Tajikistan, Gafurov trains at Kaizen MMA and currently resides in the DMV area. Though he has gone to decision in each of his last three fights, Gafurov had prior earned knockout victories in each of the five fights before that before falling to John Lineker in a three-round war at 145 pounds in ONE Fighting Championship. The well-traveled Gafurov is now set to make his LFA debut, and will be looking to earn his way back on to the UFC’s radar with a win over Sousa.

Sousa is a 15-1 Brazilian prospect, which while far from a common sight is notable for his dominance in the grappling department. The Constrictor Team product has four official wins by way of first round submission, and on paper it appears as though Friday night’s main event will be a classic striker vs. grappler matchup. With both fighters under the age of 30, it might take just one win for either man to earn a UFC contract and were it not for Sousa’s inactivity, he might already have a UFC contract in hand. “Indio” will be making first walk to a cage for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, so whether or not he’s made the necessary improvements to his all-around game could be the deciding factor in the main event.

Friday’s co-main event will see Milko Tucto take on Olivier Murad at featherweight. Murad, like Gafurov, is another DWCS veteran, but unlike Gafurov, Murad found himself on the right side of a split decision over Bin Xie last October. Despite the victory, he was told by UFC President Dana White to go get more experience, and the LFA is certainly a great venue to do just that. However, he should have his hands full with Tucto, a pressure grappler who opened his career with submission victories in each of his first four fights. A native of Peru, Tucto’s pressure-heavy style will be a worthy test for Murad, but if he can pass, he might just get another call from the UFC.

The rest of the main card will feature a slew of fights with up and coming names to watch in the sport. Alden Coria is set to take on Joseph Camacho, an unbeaten prospect from Guam in the featured fight at 125 pounds. Middleweights will also be in action when Fury FC veteran Shane Sobnosky welcomes heavy favorite Jared McLoughlin into the promotion. Unbeaten flyweights Kevin Fernandez and Jordan Harris are also scheduled to square off, while a considerable amount of size is slated to open the main card. Light heavyweights Joel Guzman and unbeaten Tanner Marlow will open the show, with a heavyweight bout between 1-0 Jakori Savage and 1-0 Taylor Escamilla set to follow.
