MMASucka’s UFC on ESPN 11 Staff Picks

MMASucka staff picks are locked in for tonight’s UFC on ESPN 11. For the fourth straight weekend in a row, the promotion will host an event at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will begin at 8:00pm ET (5:00pm PT) on both ESPN and ESPN+.

The Fights

Exciting heavyweights Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov will meet in the night’s main event. “Razor” Blaydes comes in with only two professional defeats since his beginnings; those both coming to Francis Ngannou in 2016 and late 2018. Since the ’18 defeat, he has added three dominant victories to his resume including a knockout over former divisional champion Junior dos Santos. Another dominant victory could put Blaydes in talks for his first title shot. His opponent, former Bellator heavyweight champion Volkov, also looks to throw himself in the title picture. An impressive six-fight win streak was snapped at UFC 229 in 2018 after a come-from-behind knockout win in the favor of Derrick Lewis. However, Volkov would find the win column in November with a decision win over Greg Hardy.

A thrilling show is in store in the co-main event between featherweights Josh Emmett and Shane Burgos. Emmett hopes to add upon his last two victories by knockout while Burgos targets a potential 14th career win in just 15 professional fights.

Also on the main card includes bantamweight veteran Raquel Pennington, former Titan FC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad, and fan-favorite scrapper Jim Miller. See all of our staff picks for UFC on ESPN 11 further below.

Staff Picks

Throughout the year, staff picks will be composed of five different MMA promotions. UFCBellatorONE, and RIZIN all appeared for the 2019 season and will make returns. The newest addition for the 2020 year will see the PFL including their regular season, playoffs, and championship card. A special staff picks bonus will be introduced and discussed regarding PFL’s playoff format as time gets closer.

Main cards will makeup both UFC and Bellator picks, while the biggest fights to make up ONE, RIZIN, and PFL events will be used. The WINNER of staff picks will have a choice between receiving a championship belt from ProAmBelts or a championship chain from Championship Chains. The 2019 winner was awarded to Michael DeSantis, compiling a record of 321-178. Second-place Connor Deitrich collected a close score of 319-180 with third-place Ed Gallo not far behind totaling at 312-183.
