“Bring MVP to MVP”: Jake Paul Sends Message to Michael ‘Venom’ Page After UFC Exit

Michael ‘Venom’ Page has been released from the UFC despite a four-fight win streak in the promotion. 

His last win came at UFC Paris on September 5, before Dana White confirmed that they will not renew his contract. Interestingly, the British star already has an offer queued for him just days after his exit.

After founding the MVP, Paul merged it with PFL (Professional Fighters League) to challenge the UFC’s market stronghold. 

On July 30, MVP and PFL merged to produce a global combat sports powerhouse, combining boxing, MMA, live events, and distribution under one roof with a fighter-first pay philosophy.

Now, a 39-year-old Page with a four-fight win streak and a 26-3 pro record is exactly the kind of name that fits the platform. Hence, Paul took advantage of the occasion.

"Think it's time to bring MVP to MVP," Paul wrote on X as soon as the British star’s free agency was confirmed. Now, with Page’s situation with the UFC, the move looks inevitable. 

Page’s Situation with The UFC

During his time in ‌Bellator, Page has finished most of his fights, tying the record for most knockouts in the promotion’s history.

However, his UFC run doesn’t reflect the same. Although the British star has defeated elite contenders, his performances have generated mixed reviews. 

Perhaps the UFC is a promotion that heavily relies on star power and spectacular fights. Page has a 5-1 UFC record, and all of his wins have come via ‌decision. In his last win against Nursulton Ruziboev, Page landed just eighteen significant strikes. 

Despite a hard-to-ignore resume, UFC boss Dana White confirmed they will not renew Page’s contract. While many fighters might react differently under the pressure of being cut, Page kept his composure. He just posted a meme targeting internet opinions. He has also yet to respond to the offer received outside the UFC.
