Brunno Ferreira set to face Edmen Shahbazyan at UFC 331

The Brazilian middleweight will face the former top prospect at the event in Los Angeles.
Brunno Ferreira has his next challenge. Although he has lost his last two fights inside the Octagon, the Brazilian is set for another tough test as he is expected to face Edmen Shahbazyan at UFC 331, scheduled to take place Sept. 19 in Los Angeles. The matchup was first reported by journalist Leo Guimaraes, although the UFC has yet to make it official.
Important Test for Brunno Ferreira
After signing with the UFC following his appearance on Dana White's Contender Series, The Hulk compiled a solid 6-2 record in his first eight fights in the promotion, with victories over Armen Petrosyan and Marvin Vettori. However, the Brazilian lost momentum in his last two appearances, suffering back-to-back defeats. Now, Ferreira will have another opportunity to get back on track in a tough matchup against Shahbazyan.
Shahbazyan Looking to Bounce Back
Like The Hulk, Shahbazyan is also looking to bounce back after losing to Brendan Allen in his most recent Octagon appearance. Once considered one of the UFC's brightest middleweight prospects, the American climbed as high as No. 9 in the rankings before going through an inconsistent stretch. Shahbazyan managed to regain momentum last year by putting together a three-fight winning streak before having it snapped by Allen.
