Dana White Calls Francis Ngannou a “Bad Guy” and Rules Out Working With Him Again

Dana White shuts down talk of ever working again with Francis Ngannou.
There are several fighters Dana White loves working with, from Jon Jones to Conor McGregor. The UFC boss has always been clear about what he expects from his fighters: they should stay professional, not back out of fights, and build their own persona while helping the company grow. And when a fighter doesn’t follow the route, he instantly cuts the chords with them.
Talking about one such fighter, Francis Ngannou is someone White doesn’t like and has a rocky relationship with. Now that the Cameroonian fighter is out of the company, the UFC boss has ruled out any possibility of them working together.
Dana White Shuts Down Any Chance of Working With Francis Ngannou Again
Recently, while chatting with Night Cap, White was asked if fans would ever get to see Ngannou vs. Jon Jones. For those who don’t know, the fight between the two is something fans have been waiting for a long time. However, Jones is now retired but wants to return, while Ngannou is now out of the PFL, making a fight between the two something fans still want to see.
Meanwhile, White has completely rejected the idea of working with Ngannou. He has pointed to his past with other companies and said he does not want to do business with him. “Ngannou is on my Oscar de La Hoya list. Look at the history of Francis Ngannou and the other companies he's been with. He's a bad guy. I don't want to do business with bad guys,” White stated.
For those who don’t know, Ngannou joined the PFL as a fighter and was named chairman of PFL Africa in 2023. However, he only fought once, and it failed to produce a positive return on investment. It seems White is pointing toward that, as he called him a bad guy and said he never wants to work with him. Earlier, he also revealed how ‘The Predator’ once misbehaved with him.
Dana White Once Revealed Details of How Francis Ngannou Confronted Him
Earlier, while speaking to Flagrant, Dana White talked about his physical altercation with Francis Ngannou. White later explained what happened between them. As per him, the former UFC star wanted $50,000 from him. White said no and started to leave. Ngannou then put his hand on White’s chest and said they were not finished talking. White replied that they were done.
In his words, “Let me be clear on something, too, when I say the physicality, it’s not like Francis Ngannou came in here and threatened us or did anything like that. We’re in there and he’s telling me that ‘I deserve the $50,000. I want the $50,000.’ I said, ‘You’re not getting it.’So I started to walk out and he puts his hand on my chest, he says, ‘We’re not done talking yet.’ And I said, ‘Oh, we’re f*cking done talking.’”
Indeed, White and Ngannou have not been on good terms for a long time. Even today, White still sees Ngannou as someone he does not want to work with or cross paths with.
