‘Don’t Believe Every Bullsh*t’: Jiri Prochazka Shuts Down Rumors About His Next Fight

In 2022, Jiri Prochazka became the champion despite having only two UFC wins. However, he lost the belt to Alex Pereira the next year.

Since then, Prochazka's career has been a roller coaster ride. He is coming off his third title fight defeat, this time to Carlos Ulberg in April. Next, he's rumored to be scheduled for a major bout. However, the 33-year-old has put cold water on the talks.

Jiri Prochazka Shares an Update on His Next Fight

The Czech star took to Instagram and posted a series of photos and videos from his recent training. He wrote in the caption, “Strong week, great rounds and teamwork Family and friend bachelors party for relax on weekend. Let’s start a 3rd week.”

While addressing the rumors, Prochazka said, “Just don’t believe to every bullshit on internet. Fight is not confirmed yet, still working on that.”

After a few dents in his record, Prochazka is starting from the drawing board. “One thing is sure. I want my preparation to be truly thorough, to break everything down, and to start from the roots that have long been a part of me,” he concluded. 

What were the rumors about Prochazka?

Prochazka said that he is not scheduled for a bout next. However, reports circulated that he will face Paulo Costa for the interim light heavyweight title at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City. 

Carlos Ulberg, the division's champion, is now in rehab after suffering a knee injury during the Prochazka fight. Given the circumstances, rumors of an interim title bout are circulating among fans. 

The UFC 332 main event, however, is listed as TBD on the UFC website. The event is on October 3rd. As a result, Prochazka is unlikely to be on the card. 

Furthermore, Paulo Costa has declared that he wants to complete his UFC contract and test free agency. Therefore, it is very unlikely that the promotion will offer a title fight to a contender who is sitting on the fence.
