Fans Drop Their Honest Opinions Following Jon Jones and Islam Makhachev GOAT Debate

The UFC has witnessed a lot of great fighters over the years. However, out of them, two noticeable ones that stand out are undoubtedly Jon Jones and Islam Makhachev. While Dana White has already crowned Jones as the UFC GOAT, some fans are not happy with the assessment due to Jones’ history with PEDs. Recently, the duo went off at each other on the GOAT debate. Immediately, fans did not waste time and started giving their opinions online.

One fan said, “Based Islam, can't help but to start to like the guy.”

Another fan said, “Unfortunately this is probably Ali posting this not him lol.”

A third fan commented, “imagine having to argue you're the goat instead of just being undisputed for a decade straight lmao.”

A fan wrote, “MMA is the only sport people brush off PEDs lol. Coincidentally it’s also the sport where it has the potential to do the most damage.”

One user quipped, “Come on John have some have some dignity. Be honest and you’re miserable life for one time. Didn’t you lose this this match?”

This fan chimed in, saying, “Jon would smoke Islam left and right no pun intended.” 

What Happened between Islam Makhachev and Jon Jones? 

Following Makhachev’s win against Garry, the calls mounted for the UFC to recognize the Dagestani as the GOAT. After all, Makhachev has now dominated two divisions and has remained unbeaten for a number of years. Amidst all the noise, Makhachev took a shot at the former UFC heavyweight champion. 

He said, “Jon, I'm not trying to diminish your achievements in any way. But your whole life seems to be tied to breaking the rules one way or another, and somehow, you're never the one to be blamed.”

Immediately, Jones clapped back, saying, “Let's start this week by dispelling rumors that have been spread by people chasing me:

1. If you believe USADA for finding a pico gram in my system, then you must believe USADA when they say "It was not found to be PERFORMANCE ENHANCING or INTENTIONAL". You can't have it both ways.

2. Last I checked, my hand got raised every time I was in the octagon since any of you can remember.

3. Your own coach said I was "a gift from God"

4. Let's not forget you've been ko'd, flat lined, went night night.

5. DC I kicked you in the head LOL keep telling yourself it was steroids.

Whatever you need to tell yourselves to sleep better at night, go for it.
