Former UFC Star Says Josh Hokit Is the Only Heavyweight Who Can Trouble Vadim Nemkov

Josh Thomson Says Josh Hokit Could Give Vadim Nemkov The Most Trouble

Vadim Nemkov is currently ranked No. 3 in the PFL heavyweight division and has been linked with a move to the UFC for some time. Josh Thomson is one of the people who wants to see that happen. He believes Nemkov has the skills to become a UFC champion.

However, Thomson thinks Josh Hokit could be a tough matchup for him. He believes Hokit’s wrestling could cause Nemkov more problems than anyone else in the division.

“Give me those guys outside the UFC. Maybe Vadim Nemkov didn’t want to come because of the relationship of Fedor with the UFC. He is a great heavyweight. I think he gets it done and becomes a UFC champion. The guy he would struggle against is Josh Hokit because of the wrestling,” Thomson said on the Weighing In Podcast.

Thomson also believes the UFC heavyweight division lacks depth and says there are only a few fighters at the top who stand out, including Pereira, Gane, Aspinall, and Hokit. Recently, the Brazilian fighter asked for a rematch with the interim heavyweight champion, but ‘The Incredible Hok’ slammed "Poatan" for making that demand.

Josh Hokit Slams Alex Pereira Over Title Shot Demands

Alex Pereira recently called for a rematch with Ciryl Gane, saying it is the fight that makes the most sense for him next. Hokit believes Pereira should first get a win at heavyweight before getting another opportunity at the belt. He also suggested a fight against Sergei Pavlovich as a better option and said, as a fan.

“As a fan, that fight makes no fucking sense. I watched you get demolished. How about a more favorable match up like Sergei who is basically a striker & way less athletic than Ciryl. How about you get one fucking win in this weight class before you are gifted another title shot,” Hokit wrote on X.

‘The Incredible Hok’ added that he would happily fight Pereira himself, but his focus remains on getting a title shot because of the bigger opportunity and payday that comes with it.
