Diachkova Lost Her Father Just Two Weeks After Her First Fight

The emotional anchor of Diachkova's fighting career was laid before she had even found her footing in the sport. She began her martial arts journey in wrestling before transitioning to Muay Thai, and the first steps in that new discipline coincided with one of the most painful periods of her life.

"After I lost my first fight, my dad was walking in the streets with my silver medal, telling everybody about me; he was so proud of me. And in just two weeks after my first fight, he died," Diachkova recalled.

A father so proud of his daughter's debut that he carried her silver medal through the streets, gone two weeks later. Diachkova's career has been built on the foundation of that moment, and the world title opportunity on August 14 is the biggest stage her father's memory has ever been part of.

Diachkova's Coach Became a Father Figure Through Poverty and Sacrifice

The loss of her dad did not leave Diachkova without guidance. Her coach stepped into a role that went beyond the professional relationship between a trainer and a fighter, sharing the difficult daily realities of her early years in combat sports with a generosity that shaped her entirely.

"My coach was like both father and coach to me. There were times when we shared one patty and even lived in the basement of our gym. Those were difficult times when my grandmother was ill. He was a good father and leader," she explained.

The champion she faces on August 14 has built one of the most impressive records in ONE Championship's women's striking divisions. Hemetsberger holds a 5-0 ONE record and a 10-1 career striking mark, has never been knocked out professionally. Along the way, she claimed both the ONE Women's Strawweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Titles through back-to-back five-round wars against Jackie Buntan.

Diachkova Knows What a World Title Win at ONE Fight Night 46 Means

Diachkova has articulated exactly what Friday’s title opportunity represents to her in the clearest possible terms. Her framing of the championship pursuit is rooted in a lifetime of dedication to the sport.

"What it means for me to be a World Champion? Firstly, I was told this from my childhood: only a bad captain doesn't want to be a general. I love Muay Thai. I've been doing it all my life. I love fights. I love these challenges, and I love to try overcoming them myself," she side.

Diachkova's personal sacrifices behind her career and the memory of a father who carried a silver medal through the streets give her a motivation that no record or ranking can fully capture.
