Jake Paul's viral NFL claim sparks challenge from Josh Hokit as boxer fires back with stern warning
Jake Paul fired back at UFC heavyweight prospect Josh Hokit after the former NFL player challenged him to a boxing match following the YouTuber-turned-boxer's viral NFL comments.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has once again found himself in the headlines for his recent comments, where he claimed that no NFL player could last two rounds with him in a boxing ring.
The boxer doubled down on his belief that he could step into the NFL as a slot receiver despite having no training beyond high school football. He argued that catching a touchdown pass would be far easier than surviving against him in the ring.
This has caught the attention of former NFL player and top UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit, who is up for the challenge and took a jab at Paul.

Paul took to X and claimed: “Not a single NFL player could last 2 rounds in a professional boxing ring. Meanwhile, I can catch a touchdown pass tomorrow in the NFL with 0 training. Patrick Mahomes: ‘Run a 10-yard out,’ Me: ‘Okay,’ Patrick sends me perfect pass, and I catch it, lol, what are we talking about here?”
‘The Problem Child’ X post ignited debate online and quickly went viral. The post eventually caught Hokit's attention.
Hokit, who previously spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals before transitioning to mixed martial arts, dismissed Paul's claim. The UFC heavyweight prospect insisted he would defeat Paul in a boxing match and claimed he would also beat him in virtually any other sport.
Responding to Paul's post on X, Hokit wrote: “With all due respect, @jakepaul … Not only could I beat you in a boxing match, I’d beat you in any sport under the sun.”

Paul wasted no time responding. He acknowledged the effort Hokit puts into selling his fights and sent a stern warning, claiming he would embarrass him in the boxing ring and challenge him to a showdown in Puerto Rico. He replied: “I see your hustle. You do your best to sell. If you want to fly down to Puerto Rico and box - anytime I will gladly embarrass you.”
This is not the first time the YouTuber-turned-boxer has called out UFC fighters. Time and again, he has challenged MMA stars, and his professional boxing resume reflects that. He has faced several former UFC fighters in the boxing ring and defeated each of them.
Currently, Paul is recovering from injuries sustained in his boxing match against Anthony Joshua last December.
Meanwhile, Josh Hokit has been on an upward trajectory since transitioning from the NFL to combat sports. In his most recent fight, he scored an impressive knockout victory over Derrick Lewis at the White House. He remains undefeated with a perfect professional record of 10 wins.
