ONE Championship unveils stacked field for 2026 Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix
Eight of the world's elite flyweight Muay Thai fighters are preparing to go head-to-head in what promises to be one of the most talent-packed tournaments in the sport's history.
ONE Championship has revealed the eight fighters who will compete in its 2026 Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix, setting up a tournament that brings together some of the division’s most recognizable names alongside a handful of young contenders. ONE confirmed the tournament will take place in November, though it has not yet announced the bracket or individual matchups.
The lineup already has some history. Asadula Imangazaliev won the vacant ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship by split decision over Aslamjon Ortikov in June, ending the Uzbek fighter’s unbeaten run. Three months later, both men have been placed in the same tournament.
Chatri Sityodtong, the Chairman and CEO of ONE Championship, took to Facebook on Tuesday, September 22, to announce the incredible event.
Eight Fighters Set for the 2026 Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix
Imangazaliev headlines the field as the reigning champion. The 23-year-old Russian entered ONE with a 6-0 record and built an 8-0 mark in the promotion before beating Ortikov for the vacant title. Seven of those eight ONE victories came by knockout.
Ortikov is back in the mix despite suffering the first defeat of his career. He had won all 10 of his previous ONE bouts and carried a 24-0 record into the title fight.
The tournament also features former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and former bantamweight champion Nong-O Hama. Rodtang is chasing the 275th victory of his career, while Nong-O enters with 268 wins.
Shimon Yoshinari, Black Panther, Ramadan Ondash and Ubaid Hussain complete the field. Yoshinari has won all seven of his ONE appearances, including a second-round stoppage of Suablack Tor Pran49 earlier this month. Black Panther is riding a six-fight winning streak.
The youngest members of the group are Ondash, 19, and Hussain, 20. Hussain recently earned a $100,000 main-roster contract after his eighth straight ONE victory, taking his professional record to 17-0.
Asadula Imangazaliev Could Reunite With Former Undefeated Challenger
The possibility of another Imangazaliev-Ortikov fight gives the tournament an immediate storyline before the bracket has even been drawn. Their first meeting came at The Inner Circle 20 in Bangkok, with the vacant ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship on the line. After five competitive rounds, Imangazaliev took the split decision and moved to 13-0, while Ortikov suffered his first career loss.
Ortikov now has another route toward the top of the division. Rather than waiting for a conventional title rematch, he could potentially meet the champion again during the Grand Prix itself. That outcome is far from guaranteed. ONE has not announced the bracket, matchups, or tournament prize, so there is no confirmation that the two will be drawn together.
For now, what is certain is that the championship and the man who held the unbeaten record before Imangazaliev took it from him are both heading into the same eight-man tournament. That makes November’s Grand Prix a particularly important next chapter for the division.
