Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon is enjoying a three-bout winning streak in ONE Championship and is looking to extend it at ONE Fight Night 32. The Thai striker returns to the global stage and U.S. primetime on Friday, June 6, against Dmitrii Kovtun. The #5-ranked contender hopes a fourth-consecutive victory will push him higher and towards a title bid.
“Dmitrii Kovtun is a good fighter, no doubt. I never underestimate anyone. But I watched his fights and came up with a plan to deal with him in the ring,” Rambolek stated to ONE.
Rambolek Faces Tough Competition in Kovtun
Kovtun is looking to make his own run in the division. The Russian has won three of his four outings in ONE, surprising fans and pundits alike with wins over Ferrari Fairtex, Suablack Tor Pran49, and Soe Lin Oo. The 27-year-old may be flying under the radar for most, but Rambolek is locked in ahead of their showdown.

“[Kovtun] seems to run out of steam towards the end and doesn’t really have a tight defense. He likes to wait and counter. His strength is his left hook, but I have no problem with his southpaw style. Don’t forget I beat Kulabdam, and he’s a southpaw, too,” the Thai athlete said.
While many athletes hold their cards close to their chest, Rambolek is fine with giving away some of his game plan. In their upcoming meeting inside Lumpinee Stadium, the Thai star believes the kicking game will play a major role in their bout. Rambolek plans to take Kovtun’s base away and chop at his legs early in the match.
Rambolek Hungry For a Finish June 6
“For this fight, I’ll probably focus more on the kicks because Dmitrii doesn’t defend them too well. If I see an opening to knock him out, I’m going for it,” Rambolek admitted.
Currently sitting as the fifth-ranked contender in the bantamweight division, Rambolek is defending his position in the rankings. The 22-year-old still sees this as an opportunity to nab another win and stake his claim as a top contender. His performance is just as important to defending his spot as it is to sending notice to ONE Interim Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane.
“My ultimate goal isn’t just to keep my name in the rankings; it’s to climb all the way to the World Championship level,” Rambolek stated.
Could a Rambolek vs. Haggerty Fight Be Next Up?
Rambolek is already eyeing his next foe in the rankings should he get a win on June 6. Although he would love a title shot, the Thai star wants to prove himself against the division’s former champion, Jonathan Haggerty. If he gets his hand raised at ONE Fight Night 32, expect him to use his time on the mic to call “The General” to the battlefield.
“The top five guys now? They’re all good. Anyone’s got a shot at the title. But the one I really want to fight? That’s #2, Jonathan Haggerty. I’ll probably try to avoid #1-ranked Superlek, but if it’s what I gotta do, I’ll fight him. After this fight, if I beat Dmitrii, the next name I’m calling out is Haggerty,” the rising star finished.
ONE Fight Night 32 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, June 6. The action begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and Canada.
