Three Brazilians Rumored for PFL Season Two

The Professional Fighters League recently announced some of their fighters for season two. All of the confirmed fighters were either champions or finalists in PFL’s first season. It was reported on Twitter that three Brazilian fighters have signed with PFL for their second season. They will presumably be confirmed when PFL announces their new signees (fighters who weren’t there last season) on March 18.

Brazilian Fighters Rumored for PFL Season Two

Luis Rafael

Luis Rafael is the only of the three fighters to not have fought in the UFC. However, “Japa” is considered to be one of the top prospects in Brazil. Up until his first professional loss in 2016, Rafael was 31-0. His career record currently sits at 33-1, with an astounding 19 of those wins coming via submission. The former Serbian Battle Championship champion will be fighting in PFL’s featherweight division. Fighting out of Astra Fight Team, Japa will be looking to introduce himself to the North American crowd in impressive fashion.

Edimilson “Kevin” Souza

Joining Japa in PFL’s season two featherweight division will be former UFC and Bellator MMA fighter Kevin Souza. Souza’s record is currently 16-5 in his professional career. 14 of those 16 victories have come via knockout. Also noteworthy, due to Rafael’s aforementioned submission skills, that four of his losses came via submission. Souza was 3-1 in the UFC and 0-1 in Bellator, where his only fight was a loss to Patricky “Pitbull” Freire. The former Jungle Fight champion will be looking to return to his winning ways, and maybe make a million dollars in the process.

Glaico Franca

Glaico Franca is a very well known name to UFC fans. He was a force in his run to the top of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4. Franca would end up losing decisions to James Vick and Gregor Gillespie in the UFC. Those two losses resulted in his departure from the company. Since then, though, Franca has not lost a fight. He has won six fights in a row and became the Pancrase welterweight champion. Throughout his career and recent win streak, Franca has shown the ability to finish opponents with strikes or submissions. It will be very interesting to see how the former TUF champion fits into a PFL welterweight division that is already shaping up to be loaded with talent.
