UFC Vegas 105 Weigh-In Results: Two Hiccups on Scales Friday

UFC Vegas 105 is almost here. This weekend, the first of three UFC events in the month of April take place. After a trip south of the border last Saturday, Dana White‘s organization heads back home to its Nevada base for this week’s edition of UFC Fight Night.

The UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, NV is the site for UFC Vegas 105 on Saturday night. Live coverage begins at 6 pm ET/ 3 pm PT on ESPN and ESPN+ inside the United States with the prelims.

Main card action follows at 9 pm ET/ 6 pm PT on the cable network and streaming platform. Friday morning, the official weigh-in period for UFC Vegas 105 was held. The weigh-ins were a little bit rocky today, however.

Grant vs. Santos Tilt Scrubbed at Scales During UFC Vegas 105 Weigh-Ins Friday

Tomorrow night’s card was to have featured a bantamweight contest matching Davey Grant (14-7 MMA, 7-6 UFC) against Daniel Santos (11-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC). This will no longer be the case for UFC Vegas 105, however.

While Grant clocked in within the 136-lb nontitle maximum at 135 1/2 lbs, Santos took ill, resulting in the fight getting postponed ahead of tomorrow night’s card. This wasn’t the only issue encountered at the weigh-ins this morning.

Bantamweight Cortavious Romious Exceeds Weight Ahead of UFC Vegas 105

The second problem at the scales also dealt with a bantamweight fight. Although Saturday’s fight between Cortavious Romious (9-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Chang Ho Lee (10-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will still take place as scheduled, it does so after the former exceeded the nontitle maximum at 139 1/2 lbs.

The latter weighed in at 136 lbs, with Romious surrendering 20 percent of his pay as a result of the weight miss.
