UFC Vegas 41 Results

For the first time in over a year, former middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa is making his return to the octagon in a light heavyweight main event against another former middleweight title challenger, Marvin Vettori. Originally scheduled to be a middleweight main event, Costa has issues with weight all week, forcing them to settle at light heavyweight. As the card goes on, MMASucka will have UFC Vegas 41 Results going live throughout the card.

UFC Vegas 41 Results – Main Event

Paulo Costa has not fought in over a year, since he challenger UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya for the belt at UFC 253. Adesanya made easy work of Costa as he finished him in the second round by TKO. Prior to that loss, Costa had put together an undefeated professional record of 13-0. He made his UFC debut in 2017 and won five straight fights before getting a title shot. Among those wins included four straight TKO finishes over Garreth McLellanOluwale Bamgbose, former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks and Uriah Hall. The win over Hall earned him a match-up with former multi-time title challenger, Yoel Romero. Costa ended up winning the fight by unanimous decision, putting him next in line for a title shot. However, something was keeping Costa from facing Adesanya right away, so instead, Romero got a title shot in the meantime. Now, Costa looks to get a win over Vettori in a new weight class.

Marvin Vettori will also be entering this fight with his last fight being a title fight against UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. The fight took place earlier this year with Adesanya coming out on top by unanimous decision. It was Vettori’s second fight against Adesanya as the two also faced each other in 2018 with Adesanya winning by split decision. After his first loss to Adesanya, Vettori put together five straight wins. Among those wins were unanimous decision wins over Cezar FerreiraAndrew SanchezJack HermanssonKevin Holland and a submission win over Karl Roberson. Fighting at a heavier weight than he is used to, Vettori will look to pick up a big win over Costa as he looks to climb his way back to a title shot.

UFC Vegas 41 Results – Co-Main Event

UFC Vegas 41’s co-main event will feature a lightweight match-up between Grant Dawson and Ricky Glenn. Dawson enters the fight with a pro record of 17-1 as he has not lost a fight since 2016, the year before he made his UFC debut. His UFC debut occurred after he secured a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series with a submission win over Adrian Diaz. In his debut, he picked up a unanimous decision over Julian Erosa. Since then, Dawson has put together four straight wins to add to the four fight win streak he was already on. The wins he picked up after the Erosa fight include submission wins over Michael Trizano and Darrick Minner, a unanimous decision win over Nad Narimani, and a knockout win over Leonardo Santos in his most recent outing.

Facing off against Dawson will be Ricky Glenn, who enters the fight with a UFC record of 4-3. Glenn made his octagon debut in 2016 with a loss against Evan Dunham. He was able to put together back-to-back wins following that loss as he picked up decision wins over Phillipe Nover and Gavin Tucker. He then suffered another loss as Myles Jury snapped the win streak with a unanimous decision win over Glenn. Glenn then picked up another win after that, defeating Dennis Bermudez by split decision before suffering another loss as Kevin Aguilar beat him by unanimous decision. Glenn’s most recent fight took place this summer as he picked up a knockout win over Joaquim Silva. He looks to put together two in a row again and snap Dawson’s win streak in the process.

UFC Vegas 41 Results – Main Card

Kicking off the main card will be a light heavyweight fight between Nicolae Negumereanu and Isaac Villanueva. Negumereanu has had two fights so far in the UFC and has gone 1-1 in those fights with a unanimous decision loss to Saparbeg Safarov and a split decision win over Aleksa Camur in his most recent fight. Villanueva comes into the fight with a 1-3 record in the UFC. His one win happened earlier this year and since then, he has gone on to lose to Marcin Prachnio by knockout. Each man will look to bounce back and pick up a win in this fight.

Following that match-up will be a fight in the welterweight division as Francisco Trinaldo faces Dwight Grant. In Trinaldo’s last fight, he made his welterweight debut as he lost to Muslim Salikhov, snapping his three fight win streak. As for Grant, he enters the fight coming off a split decision win over Stefan Sekulic earlier this year.

The third fight on the main card will feature two featherweights as Alex Caceres faces off against Seungwoo Choi. Caceres enters the fight riding a four fight win streak as he holds unanimous decision wins over Steven PetersonChase Hooper and Kevin Croom. He also picked up a submission win over Austin Springer during that time. Choi enters the fight with his own win streak of three straight as he picked up unanimous decision wins over Suman Mokhtarian and Youssef Zalal. In his most recent fight, Choi picked up a first round TKO win over Julian Erosa.

Finally, before the co-main event, Jessica-Rose Clark and Joselyne Edwards face off in a women’s bantamweight bout. Clark enters the fight with a 1-2 record in her last three outings. After back-to-back unanimous decision losses to Pannie Kianzad and Jessica Eye, Clark went on to finish Sarah Alpar by third round TKO in her most recent outing. Edwards will be coming into the fight with a 1-1 record in the UFC. She made her debut in January with a unanimous decision win over Yanan Wu. After that, in her most recent outing, taking place a few weeks after her debut, Edwards lost a unanimous decision against Karol Rosa.
