This move seemingly comes out of the blue, but the 23-year-old has gone on to state she has big goals for her tenure with the company, going as far as to say she looks to headline the pro wrestling powerhouse’s biggest yearly event Wrestlemania.
“Headlining WrestleMania is a dream and I’m gonna conquer that one day, but really my goal in WWE is I’m becoming the first Cuban-American woman, and I want to be a role model and an inspiration to young Latinas who can now see someone from their culture in WWE”
Loureda, who is 4-1 as a professional, will continue to be a member of Scott Coker’s MMA brand, as she looks to make her WWE debut as a member of NXT, a program that allows WWE “superstars” to hone in their skills and get accustom to the intricacies of the pro wrestling ring. Scott Coker would go on to state,
“She [Valerie Loureda] will remain an active and under contract fighter with Bellator, and we look forward to welcoming her back into the cage in the near future. We take great pride in allowing our athletes to test themselves in additional arenas such as boxing and pro wrestling.”
Loureda will begin training shortly and is scheduled to make her pro wrestling debut by the end of the year. Considering how Bobby Lashley‘s pro wrestling career bled out his stay with Bellator and mixed martial arts as a whole, it will be interesting to see if “Master” Loureda will ever return to the Bellator cage.
