I don’t want to write you long winded hate mail back. 😉 Oh and I will. Trust me.
Okay, it’s time to throw down. No not for real. I’d love another opportunity to train and fight again. I thought the whole experience was eye opening. But alas, that won’t happen. I’m 33 and I like Nachos and beer too much. However I have decided to go back to BJJ at West Coast BJJ/MMA. I highly recommend checking them out if you are in the Vancouver/Lower Mainland area. I don’t want to become that stereotypical fat guy who covers the sport. Sorry but there are a few. You know who you are. #Just Saying? 😉
So, whom am I going to throw down with you ask? Well it’s not just me; I’ll be calling upon the MMASucka.com Army. I want to go to war with a certain Canadian MMA Website called Top MMA News. They call themselves the #1 MMA site in Canada. It’s kind of a bold statement. I’m not saying MMASucka.com is the #1 site. I don’t know if that is what we strive for. We just do what we do. BUT… by putting that statement on your website means you’re claiming to be the champ. So give us a title shot you paper champion!
I’m issuing a FRIENDLY Challenge. Keep in mind there is no real hate here. I’d rather make this fun. The problem is it won’t be when their tangled bodies lay in a mess on the canvas. With Elizabeth on my left…oooh yeaahhh dig it!
I’m sure the two girls in their parent’s basement who run that web site will take the challenge on. Why am I calling them out? Boredom I guess. I’m in the mood to pick a fight.
I wanted to pick a friendly fight with MMACanada.net but I’m not sure if they actually have writers over there. I just see a lot of copy and paste. Don’t get me wrong, I like MMACanada.net but I don’t think they have the time to take on this challenge. Maybe once we mop the floor with Top MMA News we can think about MMACanada.net. I think they are too busy promoting autograph sessions and UFC after parties in Melford Saskatchewan to really write anything relevant or meaningful anymore. So I will leave them alone.
Instead I have my eye on Top MMA News. They do a pretty good job of covering the local Canadian scene so I will give them their props. They even have a writer who sometimes knows what she’s writing about. I have heard a few people say that they occasionally tend to copy story ideas from MMASucka.com. I don’t know how true that is, BUT… I’m not surprised. I’m not going to say who has better content or not. I think we have different styles. I have been known to frequent their site from time to time. Mostly after a night out of heavy drinking. You ever do that, drink and surf?
Okay so here it is… We pick 5 events. We (meaning Top and Sucka) pick the five MMA events we are collectively looking forward to the most. We have to agree. It can’t be Drunken Bloody Beatdown 47 in Newfoundland or something obscure like that. It has to be five events that we can watch on TV. Most likely it will be five events we are looking forward to.
For each event each site picks one writer to make their picks for the main card. Under each pick is an explanation of why. You have to break it down. It can’t be “Cause I think he’s hot,” sorry gals at Top MMA it won’t work like that. Write down your educational response and both sites will put it up and we (the collective) will keep score.
I haven’t thought of a good prize yet. I’m sure we’ll discuss. Maybe wings, nachos and beer? I hear you ladies like that. BUT… I do think the loser has to write a very flattering story about the winner’s site and put it up as a headline story and promote the shit out of it.
Look, I know MMASucka.com is still building. We don’t mind picking fights. We do things a little bit more raw and unconventional around here. We put more personality in what we do, and Top MMA is a bit more umm… run of the mill. I get it.
Okay Top MMA News…You ready to throw down? Or will you cower? I am calling you out. Don’t make us hijack your riveting podcasts.
