After being forced out of the initial date of UFC Fight Night 29 by a hernia, Jeremy “Lil’ Heathen” Stephens will now get his shot at Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra at UFC Fight Night 32.
UFC Officials announced the featherweight bout earlier today.
Jeremy Stephens vs Rony “Jason” rescheduled for UFC Fight Night 32
Jeremy “Lil’ Heathen” Stephens (21-9) has certainly had quite a run in the UFC. After losing his last 3 fights at lightweight, “Lil’ Heathen” made the jump down to 145 lbs. and was able to retain his job with a victory over Estevan Payan at UFC 160. A violent striker, Stephens made his name in wars with fighters like Sam Stout and Anthony Pettis, and will be hoping to continue to make a mark with a win in Brazil. Will he be able to get that win over Rony “Jason”?
Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra (13-3) made his way into the UFC via The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, winning the first season’s featherweight competition. After besting Godofredo “Pepe” to win the competition, Rony “Jason” would go on to defeat Sam Sicilia and Mike Wilkinson in his next bouts. Now 3-0 in the Ultimate Fighting Championships, Bezerra will be looking to make a case for a top 10 opponent. Will he be successful and get the win over “Lil’ Heathen”?
UFC Fight Night 32: Belfort Vs. Henderson goes down on Nov. 9th at the Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil. The main event is scheduled to be a light heavyweight affair, pitting Vitor Belfort against Dan Henderson in a rematch of their Pride FC encounter in 2006.
