Keeping the entertainment going at UFC 184, and one of the more anticipated fights of the night, Josh Koshcheck makes his long-awaited return to the octagon against Jake Ellenberger. It has been over 400 days since Kos made an appearance for the UFC and Ellenberger is coming off that disappointing loss against Kelvin Gastelum.

UFC 184: Ellenberger Lands First UFC Submission Win Against Koscheck

While both fighters spent some time exchanging in the early parts of the first round, Koshcheck landed a quick takedown but was not able to keep Ellenberger on the mat. As Ellenberger got back to his feet, Koscheck kept him pinned against the fence and tried to land another takedown. Ellenberger was able to break free and started pushing the pace in the striking department. While both fighters were trying to land something, they spent the second half of the round feeling each other out.

The second round saw much of the same, with Koscheck going for an early takedown but failing. Ellenberger was able to push away and kept the fight standing thereafter. There was a bit of a back-and-forth but Ellenberger started getting the upper hand as Koscheck tried to land a takedown against the fence.

In a very swift move, Ellenberger was able to land a very impressive north-south choke on the way to the ground and forced Koscheck to tap. Looks like Ellenberger is back on the winning trail and will get another top welterweight in the coming months.
