While the UFC may have taken Easter off, the Eye of the Storm MMA Podcast certainly didn’t! Justin caught up with multi-time, multi-belt IBJJF World Champion, BJJ black beltĀ  and Budo MMA owner/head coach Scott “Chuckinho” Boudreau to talk about his martial arts journey, his approaches to both coaching and competing, and that time he was in a band called Naked for Jesus. A great conversation with a fixture of Metro Vancouver’s martial arts community, with some great tips in there for would-be coaches and gym owners. There’s also an update on co-host Christiaan Allaart and how his 6 month training excursion is going! So be sure to give it a listen, a rating, and a review either below, on iTunes, or on Stitcher Radio.

Additionally, former Eye of the Storm MMA Podcast guest Ryan Gibson, of Hammerhead Sports Management could really use some help. Ryan was diagnosed with ocular melanoma – that’s right, cancer of the eye – and was forced to sacrifice his eye in order to save his own life. Unfortunately, Ryan lives in the US, where health coverage even if you have insurance is spotty at best, and the surgery to remove his cancerous eye was shockingly expensive. To that end, a GoFundMe has been established to help Ryan pay for the $20,000 surgery. If at all possible, I humbly request that you help Mr. Gibson out in any way you can. He’s done a lot to help MMA fighters like Justin Gaethje get some serious sponsorship money, and the least we can do as a community is give back. Please give what you can, and if you can’t give, then please share.
