UFC officials announced the match-up on Wednesday morning’s edition of Good Morning America.

Cormier (17-1) won the vacant light heavyweight championship against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 and has since gone on to defend it once against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192. The lone loss on Cormier’s record was to Jones at UFC 182 where he lost a one-sided decision.

Jones (22-1) returned to the Octagon after a year long suspension against Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197. He earned a unanimous decision, but was not impressed with his performance and urged fans that he would look better in his next outing.

The two were expected to rematch at UFC 197, however an injury to Cormier forced him out of that bout.

UFC 200 goes down on July 9 from the all new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
