After his hearing today, the California State Athletic Commission voted unanimously to revoke the licence to fight of former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Jones CSAC Hearing a Disaster
The hearing was part of due process for a failed drug test for the steroid Turinabol after his July bout with Daniel Cormier. The defense of Jones and his team focused on an argument that consisted of “only a very stupid person would fail this test.”
The slate of Jones is anything but clean, having failed a previous test for estrogen blockers, and cocaine before that.
Jones pleaded with the commission that he has done no wrong, and that “science” is the culprit for his failed tests.
With his case with USADA still looming, this result does not bode well for Jones and his team. Fans will be hoping Jon Jones and his management can come up with a stronger defense, as he could be looking at anywhere from two to six years away from the sport, effectively ending his career.
