MMASucka got the opportunity to speak with Joe Giannetti at Cage Titans 39 media day. Giannetti is a competitor on the current and 27th season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Joe Giannetti talks TUF 27 Experience
The undefeated fighter spoke about the changes happening with the Cage Titans (CTFC) promotion. Giannetti began his fighting career as an amateur with the promotion. Overall he has made 11 appearances for CTFC, including his amateur and professional debuts. In those 11 appearances, he holds an 11-0 record with eight submissions, and nine stoppages overall.
He then talked about visiting the UFC Performance Institute with a crew of Cage Titans veterans. Along with promotion owner/matchmaker and a few CTFC veterans, Giannetti and company went down to Las Vegas with Sean Lally. At the time Lally (another highly ranked New England fighter), was in preparation for his fight on the first episode of the second season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.
The Boston fighter lastly spoke about his experience on season 27 of the Ultimate Fighter. Picked by Team DC, Giannetti fought on the first episode of the current season. In the fight, he instantly dispatched John Gunther by guillotine in the opening minute of the bout.
Training and Record
Joe Giannetti trains out of South Shore Sportfighting in Rockland, Massachusetts. There he trains with current UFC bantamweight, Manny Bermudez. He learns under the tutelage of the much-respected head coaches at SSSF, Scott Lockhart, and Bill Mahoney.
Currently, he holds a professional record of 6-0. His most recent performance came at Cage Titans 35 where he submitted Keenan Raymond in the second round of their main card matchup. The victory was his fifth submission as a professional.
