‘RIZIN: Yarennoka!’ adds Japanese celebrity Nanaka Kawamura

In the latest addition to RIZIN’s NYE ‘Yarennoka!’ show, Japanese ‘idol’ Nanaka Kawamura will face Ai Shimizu.

Known as “The Strongest Underground Idol,” 22-year-old Nanaka Kawamura (2-2) has been single-handedly selling out DEEP JEWELS shows throughout the course of 2018, Kawamura is a member of musical group Alice Juban under Kamen Joshi in Japan. Typically, the members of Alice Juban wear Jason Vorhees style hockey masks as part of their performance. Their style of music? Shockingly, metal/rap.

Along with being an ‘idol’ in the music community, Nanaka Kawamura has made quite a name for herself in the MMA world. Competing four times in MMA, all four of which under the DEEP JEWELS banner in 2018, Kawamura has seen multiple sell-outs because of her inclusion and become one of the most popular fighters on the roster. Earlier this month she defeated Tomomi Souda. This ‘Yarennoka!’ bout will undoubtedly be the biggest of her young career.

Opposite the green 22-year-old fighter will be Ai Shimizu (0-0), an undefeated amateur fighter looking to make a statement in her professional debut against a fairly big name. The Gen Sports Academy fighter enters the contest with a 2-0 record on the amateur scene, winning her last bout by way of (T)KO.

Ai fights out of the famed KRAZY BEE gym with the likes of Yusuke Yachi and Miyuu Yamamoto, both competing at RIZIN 14.

‘RIZIN: Yarennoka!’ will take place on NYE in Japan and act as a precursor to the stacked RIZIN 14 card. The main event of ‘Yarennoka!’ sees legends face-off as Tatsuya Kawajiri takes on Satoru Kitaoka.

Also on the card will be a pair of rematches. Kai Asakura looks to get revenge on Jae Hoon Moon, a man who knocked him out cold last year. And Kana Watanabe looks to repeat against Shizuka Sugiyama. Kickboxing action will also be seen.

This all before the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Tenshin Nasukawa, Kyoji Horiguchi, Darrion Caldwell, Kanna Asakura, Ayaka Hamasaki, and so much more take to the ring at RIZIN 14.
