We are just two weeks away from the debut event of Pittsburgh’s newest MMA promotion. 247 Fighting Championships is a new promotion looking to establish itself in the western Pennsylvania MMA scene. Steeltown Throwdown, the promotion’s first fight card, is set to take place on April 6th. A lot has changed since our first coverage of the event, so it’s time for some updates.
Steeltown Throwdown Fight Card and Information
Updated Fight Card
Currently, there are eight fights announced for Steeltown Throwdown. This could change, as promoter Ryan Middleton says injuries caused a few changes to previously announced amateur fights. Replacement opponents are being looked for, so there could still be a couple of new fights announced soon. Three of the eight fights are professional fights, with the event being headlined by a lightweight championship bout between fan favorite Khama Worthy and Nebraska’s Joey Munoz.
Professional Fight Card
Khama Worthy (The Academy) vs. Joey Munoz– lightweight championship bout
Ethan Goss (Gorilla House Gym) vs. Elijah Cavender– featherweight bout
Brett Shoenfelt (Tactical Combat Academy of Mixed Martial Arts) vs. Dustin Parrish (American Top Team)- 165 pound catchweight bout
The amateur fight card, in its current state, is slated to be a battle between western New York and western Pennsylvania. All five New Yorkers train out of the same gym, WNY MMA and Fitness, while various gyms in the Pittsburgh area are being represented.
Amateur Fight Card
Tre Blackmon (Stout Training Pittsburgh) vs. Jake Braunscheidel (WNY MMA and Fitness)- 190 pound catchweight bout
