UFC 242 Results

The UFC returns to Abu Dhabi for the third time. The lightweight title will be on the line as Khabib Nurmagomedov faces Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 242. Nurmagomedov, the champion, is coming off a nine month suspension stemming from an incident at UFC 229. That came after he submitted former featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor. He returns to face the interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier. He enters the fight with an undefeated record of 27-0, while Poirier enters the fight on a solid four fight win streak. That includes finishes over Anthony Pettis, Justin Gaethje, and Eddie Alvarez.

The co-main event features a rematch in the lightweight division. Top lightweight contenders, Edson Barboza and Paul Felder, first fought at UFC on Fox 16 in 2015. Barboza defeated Felder that night by unanimous decision, but enters the contest off a loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC on ESPN 2 while Felder is coming off a win over James Vick. Felder looks to even the score while Barboza looks to improve to 2-0 over Felder.

Kicking off the main card will be another lightweight fight as Mairbek Taisumov faces Diego Ferreira. Taisumov enters the contest on a six fight win streak while Ferreira has won his last four straight. Next, a heayweight fight as Curtis Blaydes returns to the octagon to face Shamil Abdurakhimov. Finally, before the co-main event, Islam Makhachev looks to win his sixth straight as he faces Davi Ramos, winner of his last four.
