ONE: A New Breed goes down in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, August 28, and features a ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship bout atop the docket. ONE Championship will also find the next contender for Nong-O Gaiyanghadao in the co-main event.
Stamp Fairtex has been chasing history to become the first-ever three-sport World Champion with titles in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts. However, earlier in 2020, American Janet Todd put a halt to those plans by taking the ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title. Now, for the first time since last June, Stamp defends the Muay Thai gold against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
The co-main event will feature the finals to the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai Tournament. Rodlek PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym came up short to Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE: No Surrender II, but an injury to Saemapetch will see Rodlek step back into the ring to compete against #3-ranked contender Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai for a shot at Nong-O’s ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship.
In mixed martial arts action, three bouts help fill out the card.
Yodkaikaew Fairtex vs. Alex Schild and Drex Zamboanga vs. Detchadin Sornsirisuphathin will both be bouts in the flyweight division. The third of the matches will feature the #1-ranked contender Denice Zamboanga against Watsapinya Kaewkhong, giving “Dream Girl” an opportunity to usurp the top spot and make a claim for Angela Lee and the divisional crown.
Among the other contests will be the return of Wondergirl Fairtex, who is riding an impressive debut performance at ONE: No Surrender III with a blistering knockout at just 1:21 of the first round.
ONE: A New Breed will be a seven-bout event in total.
