Su Mudaerji Needed Just 44-Seconds to Finish Malcolm Gordon

The second fight on the UFC on ESPN 18 lasted just 44-seconds. The commercial break before UFC in cage announcer, Joe Martinez announced each fighter lasted longer than the bout itself. Su Mudaerji put the entire flyweight division on notice with his knockout of Malcolm Gordon.

Mudaerji (13-4) had not fought since August of 2019 when he earned a unanimous decision against Andre Soukhamthath. The lay-off did not seem to faze “The Tibetan Eagle” one bit. With Gordon pressuring forward, Mudaerji landed a strong straight left, which seemed to shock the Canadian. This was followed up by a left hook and a well-timed combination, that send Gordon to the canvas. After a couple of follow-up shots, referee Dan Miragliotta stepped in and that was all she wrote.

Mudaerji’s first two Octagon appearances were in the 135-pound division and he went 1-1. This was the Tibetan’s first flyweight bout under the UFC banner.

The 24-year-old was the largest favorite on the UFC on ESPN 18 fight card and after this performance, he answered all naysayers.
