ONE: Collision Course II, a previously recorded event from Singapore on Friday, December 25, signaled the end of 2020 for ONE Championship.

The six-bout card featured two ONE Super Series bouts and four mixed martial arts contests. There was a little something for everyone on the year’s final card.

ONE: Collision Course II full recap

Jamal “Kherow” Yusupov and Samy “AK47” Sana capped off the night with a huge featherweight Muay Thai contender’s battle. #2-ranked Yusupov got the decision nod thanks in part to the bout’s only knockdown in the second round.

In additional ONE Super Series action, Momotaro took home a TKO win over Walter Goncalves in flyweight action.

At the top of the bill for mixed martial arts competition, Kairat Akhmetov, the #3-ranked contender in the division, met South Korea’s Dae Hwan Kim in a catchweight affair.

Akhmetov looked sharp throughout and relied on takedowns at the end of the first two rounds to put a stamp on his dominance. In the third round, he got the takedown early to avoid any possible danger and maintained top control for much of the final five minutes.

The performance will set Akhmetov up for a bigger 2021.

Lightweights Amir Khan and Dae Sung Park went the distance as well at ONE: Collision Course II. However, this one was a closer battle as it split the judges.

In the end, Park took home the W as he did just enough to edge by the Singaporean who was competing at home. The South Korean was able to add an important win under his belt and take a step up in the division.

Welterweight hopefuls Raimond Magomedaliev and Edson Marques met in the ONE Circle, but it would have an emphatic end. The Russian did not let the previously undefeated Brazilian get started and hammered his legs with leg kicks early. A crushing right hand found the side of Marques’ head and put him on the canvas.

The knockout should put Magomedaliev into the title hunt at welterweight for 2021.

A catchweight bout opened the evening as Japan’s Senzo Ikeda and China’s Liang Hui got the night off to a hot start with a 15-minute battle.

Hui thought he did enough to nab the win, but the judges saw it differently, awarding Ikeda a unanimous decision victory.
