In the main event at Submission Underground 20, absolute champion Mason Fowler got the job done and defended his belt against Ryan Bader.

Mason Fowler still Submission Underground Champion

After a few short seconds on the feet, Fowler sat to his butt, pulled Bader into his guard and that was the beginning of the end. Bader attempted to push the champion up against the cage, but this gave Fowler the opportunity to get a shoulder crunch in place. At first, it looked like the Caio Terra Academy brown belt was going to utilize this position to sweep, however after extending and hipping out, he was able to get a straight armlock which forced Bader to tap.

According to BJJ Heroes, this is only his tenth professional grappling bout. He of course has competed extensively, but he is listed as 9-1 professionally. He has avenged his lone loss to Craig Jones not once, but twice at SUG 16 and SUG 17.

The 27-year-old made his Submission Underground debut at SUG 15 where he earned three victories against Warren Brooks, Kody Steele and Roberto Jimenez. Since the Jones victories, he beat Vinny Magalhaes at SUG 18 and Satoshi Ishii at SUG 19.

At the end of the SUG 20 broadcast, Chael Sonnen announced that the promotion would be back in action on UFC Fight Pass in March. Does this mean we could see Mason Fowler defend his belt once again?

Who do you think the CTA brown belt, Mason Fowler should face next?
