Jason Knight was released from the UFC in November of 2018 following his fourth straight loss with the company. After his loss, he decided to put his MMA career on hold to pursue a career in bare-knuckle boxing. It was just announced yesterday that he will finally be making his return to MMA.

BKFC Career

Knight fought twice for BKFC in 2019. His first fight was a decision loss to Artem Lobov. The fight was so good the promotion immediately booked a rematch for later that year. Knight won the rematch by corner stoppage early in the fifth round. Both fights were considered some of the best fights in BKFC history.

Jason Knight Returns

Jason Knight will be returning to MMA at iKON 5 on March 5th, 2021. Knight’s opponent will be 7-3, Cristopher Ramirez. Knight returns to MMA after being away from the sport for two and a half years. It is assumed that this fight will be the card’s main event, but the company has not yet announced where this fight will fall on the card.

His Opponent

Christopher Ramirez holds a professional MMA record of 7-3. Starting his professional career in 2013. Ramirez went 1-1 with the promotion, Combate, and lost his debut with iKON at iKON 4 in December. His debut was a submission loss to undefeated, Alex Martinez. Ramirez has finished five of his six wins, three by TKO and two by submission.

The Matchup

Ramirez and Knight are both very tough guys who are not easy to finish. Ramirez has been submitted twice but has never been knocked out. While Knight has never been submitted and has only been knocked out once in his six career losses. Jason Knight has 16 of his 20 wins by finish. 13 of them coming by submission and three of them coming by TKO. Both men are known to throw caution to the wind and fight their hearts out. This fight, on paper, looks like it could be one of the best fights in iKON history.

iKON 5 will be shown exclusively on UFC Fight Pass on Friday, March 5th. The fight will be held at the Biloxi Civic Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.

My name is Michael Lynch. I’m originally from Long Island, NY, but I reside in Columbia, Sc. I’ve been covering MMA for almost two years now. I’ve covered events such as Island fights and the PFL. I also have a YouTube channel where I do fight companions and UFC fight previews. I have recently started to train in mma and would like to have my first fight in 2020. I believe that as a journalist I need to experience what these fighters go threw, in order to understand their POV.
