Also featured on the card is a co-main event featherweight title matchup in which Salahdine Parnasse defends the title against Daniel Torres. The main event will feature Olympic gold medalist Szymon Kolecki taking on veteran Martin Zawada. KSW 58 can be seen worldwide on KSWTV and the KSW app.
Pawel Politylo vs. David Martinik at KSW 58
KSW Veteran Pawel Politylo
Pawel Politylo (5-2) made his professional MMA debut under the bright lights of KSW against the current bantamweight champion, Antun Racic. Politylo took Racic to the distance at KSW 40: Dublin, only losing by split decision. After three bouts outside of KSW, all won by decision, Politylo returned to KSW where he knocked out Dawid Gralka in the second round at KSW 47 in March 2019. Next up for the 28 year-old Polish fighter was another split-decision loss to Racic, this time at KSW 49. He followed that up by getting back on the winning foot by defeating Bogdan Barbu at KSW 54 in August 2020. Politylo is doing pretty well for himself, with his only two losses coming to the promotion’s champion in his weight class.
Czech Newcomer Dawid Martinik
The 23 year-old Czech Dawid Martinik (4-1) is the newest addition to KSW’s ever-growing crop of the next wave of European talent. The 5’10” bantamweight made his professional debut in May 2017, winning via first-round armbar submission. Martinik suffered his first and only professional loss in his next bout, which saw him see defeat at Spartan Fight 9. Since then, Martinik has won three bouts in a row, two of the three by the finish.
Martinik ended 2020 with a submission win over the previously undefeated Patryk Trytek at Babilon MMA 18 in November 2020. Martinik represents Octagon Team Cieszyn in Cieszyn, Poland. Fellow KSW fighter Mateusz Legierski is a teammate of Martinik. With his KSW debut on the horizon at KSW 58, a win in his debut against a veteran of the division like Politylo would help put the young Czech propel up the ranks. KSW is having a large influx of young talent and it will be interesting to see which of those fighters will become future stars.
