Alex Caceres vs. Kevin Croom - UFC Vegas 20 Preview

A featherweight battle between two streaking fighters is upon us at UFC Vegas 20, as Alex Caceres faces Kevin Croom.

Alex Caceres

The man known as ‘Bruce Leeroy’ (17-12, 1NC) has hit a career resurgeance over the last year and a half. The 32-year-old is riding a three fight winning streak. The win streak is one of the best runs of his career. Most recently, Caceres earned a first-round rear-naked choke victory against Austin Springer in August of last year.

Kevin Croom

Croom (21-12, 1NC) is 3-0, 1NC in his last four fights. “The Hard Hillbilly” has fought for a number of major organizations and made his UFC debut in September of 2020. In highlight reel fashion, the 33-year-old earned a 31-second guillotine choke victory against Roosevelt Roberts at UFC Vegas 10. Unfortunately, Croom’s win was later overturned to a no contest by the Nevada Athletic Commission after he tested positive for marijuana.

The Match-up

These two were expected to face off at UFC Fight Night 175 in August, but Croom was forced to withdraw and Caceres went on to defeat Springer. Both men are true veterans of the sport, with Croom starting his pro career in 2007 and Caceres in 2008. The two are very well rounded when it comes to their Octagon abilities. Croom and Caceres have notable ground games, with eight (Caceres) and 10 (Croom) respectively of their victories coming via submission. This fight could very well be a grappling fans dream.
