Bellator returns to action for the second time in as many weeks with Bellator 256, and MMA Sucka has fight fans covered with Bellator 256 results. The event is coming live from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, which has become the organization’s home base during the COVID pandemic. Headlining the event is the first fight of the Bellator Light Heavweight Grand Prix, a long-awaited rematch between former Bellator light heavyweight champion and current heavyweight champion Ryan Bader and former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida. Back in 2012, “The Dragon” Machida viciously knocked out “Darth” Bader in the second round.

Bader is a much different fighter now, however, and with Machida now on the wrong side of 40, this fight could be a lot more competitive. A win for either fighter at Bellator 256 results in a semifinal fight between the winner of the next week’s fight between UFC veteran Corey Anderson and former ACA light heavyweight champion Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov.

Also on the main card, two former UFC bantamweight title challengers will make their sophomore outings with Bellator. “Alpha” Cat Zingano will look to continue to build her case at a featherweight title shot against Bellator debutant Olivia Parker. Meanwhile, “Girlrilla” Liz Carmouche will look to do the same at flyweight in the co-main event against former Invicta FC champion Vanessa Porto, who is riding a four-fight winning streak.

An intriguing featherweight matchup between Adam Borics and Jeremy Kennedy could determine which prospect is on the fast track to title contention. Both well-rounded fighters can finish each other wherever the fight goes, so expect that fight to be fireworks.

The main card is rounded out by what expects to be a great matchup between submission ace Goiti Yamauchi and UFC veteran Dan Moret. Both fighters are returning from a long layoff, but should be a fun fight that will likely mostly take place on the mat.
