One year since their first meeting, welterweight champion Kamaru Usman will rematch Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261. MMASucka has your UFC 261 results, from main event to prelims.

The UFC 261: Usman vs. Masvidal 2 event features 13 fights, including three title bouts. The card will be televised today from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.

UFC 261 Results – Usman vs. Masvidal 2

In July of 2020, Usman and Masvidal first met in a five-round championship fight. Now, welterweight king Usman will rematch “Gamebred” Masvidal in Florida. Origially Usman took a decision victory over Masvidal, but Masvidal took this initial fight on just six days’ notice. Heading into UFC 261, both Usman and Masvidal will have a full six-week training camp. Masvidal has nearly 20 years of fighting in MMA and is looking for a UFC championship. Nigerian-born Usman defended his championship in February and is looking to make Masvidal his fourth successful title defense.

For the UFC women’s strawweight championship, Chinese-born Zhang Weili is looking to add another defense against former champion Rose Namajunas. Weili won the championship in 2019 against Jessica Andrade and defended in 2020 against former champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk in a fight of the year candidate. Weili will be looking to make Namajunas her second title defense. Namajunas to looking to win the strawweight championship for the second time in her career.

UFC 261 will also feature a women’s flyweight championship bout as Valentina Shevchenko puts her title on the line against former strawweight champion Jéssica Andrade. From Kyrgyzstan originally, Shevchenko won her championship in 2018 and has defended it four times. The challenger Andrade, from Brazil, won her last bout via body punch TKO against Katlyn Chookagian and will be looking to end the reign of Shevchenko at UFC 261.

Additionally on UFC 261 will be former middleweight champion Chris Weidman facing off against top-10 Uriah Hall. Hall most recently defeated Anderson Silva by TKO this October. Weidman is looking to stay in the win column and move back into the top-10.

Kicking-off the main card is light heavyweight veteran Anthony Smith against Jimmy Crute. The two men are fighting to move up in the competitive top-10. At just age 25, Crute is looking to add a notable name to his record and move him closer to being a UFC title contender. Smith will be looking to overwhelm Crute and add another name to his resume.

The UFC 261 prelims will see Alex Oliveira versus Randy Brown, Dwight Grant versus Stefan Sekulić, Karl Roberson versus Brendan Allen, and Patrick Sabatini versus Tristan Connelly.
