Young came to Bellator in 2017 labeled as a blue-chip prospect with a record of 5-0. After a unanimous decision victory over Chris Harris in his debut, he rattled off five straight submission victories, with four coming in the first round. As a result, the Iowa native quickly worked his way into the top of the light heavyweight division. In 2019, however, he faced recent light heavyweight title challenger Julius Anglickas and lost by unanimous decision. That would prove to be his last fight with the promotion, as frustrations with a lack of activity would lead him to sign with the PFL.

He would make his PFL debut at PFL 5 2021 after originally being scheduled to fight at PFL 2 2021. Three different opponents pulled out of the fight against him, and he was ultimately removed from the card. When he finally did return, nearly two years after his last fight, he lost by unanimous decision to UFC veteran Tom Lawlor. He would then compete at the 2021 season finale, PFL Championships 2021, against debuting former UFC contender Omari Akhmedov. After being dominated for most of the fight, he scored an incredible comeback knockout from an uppercut to bring his final record to 12-2.

MMA Sucka sends their condolences to the family and friends of Jordan Young.
