GLORY announced that legendary Heavyweight kickboxer Badr Hari signed a multi-year contract extension with the promotion and will rematch Arek Wrzosek on March 19.
Hari has a 106 – 16 professional kickboxing record with 92 KO wins. He is two times It’s Showtime Heavyweight Champion, K-1 Heavyweight Champion, and two times runner up of K-1 World Grand – Prix. Moroccan-Dutch fighter is regarded as one of the greatest kickboxers of all time.
But now he will look to begin 2022 by putting an end to his three-fight losing streak, which includes two losses to Rico Verhoven and one loss to Benjamin Adegbuyi and aforementioned Wrzosek. He will once again fight Polish kickboxer at GLORY 80 at the Trixxo Arena in Hasselt, Belgium on March 19.
The first fight took place last September at GLORY 78. Hari dominated through the whole first round and the first half of the second by knocking down Wrzosek three times. As a last resort Polish fighter landed a high kick and knocked Hari Out in a highlight reel come back and finish. It earned Wrzosek the 2021 Knockout of the Year award and is widely considered as one of the greatest comebacks in all combat sports.
GLORY Executive Vice-Chairman Scott Rudmann said:
We are proud to have extended Badr Hari and give fans a fight and rematch they have been asking for months. Both Arek Wrzosek and Hari have a lot on the line in this fight and it promises to be a memorable one.
GLORY 80 will be promotion’s return to Belgium since GLORY 39 Brussels in 2017.
