ONE Championship 158 Tawanchai vs. Larsen

ONE 158 will be headlined by a title eliminated between Muay Thai specialist Tawanchai PK.Saenchai versus the Danish striker Niclas Larsen. The winner will be to face Petchmorakot for the featherweight Muay Thai title later this year. Tawanchai said in a pre-fight interview, “In Muay Thai, I want to face Petchmorakot. That’s my goal. And after winning the belt in Muay Thai, I want to fight for the [Featherweight] kickboxing belt.” Larsen stayed respectful and said, “I’m living the dream, I must say. This is part of the dream chasing… I have high, ambitious dreams that I follow and I feel so grateful to be here and to show that anything is possible. To fight in the biggest organization in the world and also against Tawanchai, in the main event and as a contender to the world title. I just feel amazed!”

The co-main at ONE 158 will see two bantamweight MMA fighters look to try and earn the next shot at ONE reigning champion “Hands of Stone” John Lineker. South Korea’s Kwon Won Il will face Fabricio Andrade, of Brazil. Both fighters are top-ranked and are on knockout win streaks. Both will look to extend their KO win streaks and earn a shot at the title. Won Il said, “I like [Fabricio]. I’ll shake his hand. But since he talked a lot, I’m going to punch him in the mouth a lot, and if I break his teeth, I’ll pay for his implants. That one I can promise.” And the Brazilian Andrade said, “After I knock Kwon out, people are going to see the difference in our levels. I’ve told everybody that I’m a level above these guys. When I finish him, it’s going to be another statement. And John Lineker’s the guy I want to fight [next].”

Heavyweight kickboxing will have a great display between two knockout artists when Rade Opačić faces Guto Inocente. These ONE heavyweight kickboxer are both hungry for the knockout finish. Also, Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida will return to the ONE Circle. The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu legend is set to meet Australia’s Simon Carson in a heavyweight MMA match. Buchecha said, “I’m ready to fight for 15 minutes. Striking if I have to, grappling if I have to… I’m training a lot, I’m not training just grappling. I’m not just training jiu-jitsu. I’m training MMA, I’ve become an MMA Fighter.” Plus, the Australian submission specialist Reece McLaren will look to stop the win streak of Xie Wei. “The Hunter” Xie Wei is a former Shaolin monk who has won all of his ONE Championship fights by way of TKO stoppage.
