UAE Warriors is going big for their 33rd show, after hosting an African-themed show yesterday in the Etihad Arena. Veterans of the UFC, Dana White’s Contender Series, and Road to UFC all line the stacked card going down from Abu Dhabi, which also boasts two title fights. Stay tuned here for live UAE Warriors 33 results.
Main Event- Championship Rematch with Heat
The main event of UAE Warriors 33 is a featherweight title rematch between Jesse Arnett (20-8) and Ali AlQaisi (12-6). The two first fought at UAE Warriors 30 in July in a barnburner of a main event. In the second round, Arnett cut AlQaisi on the forehead with ground and pound, and the cage side doctor stopped the fight.
Both fighters’ teams were heated and nearly brawled in the cage with the results. Arnett jumped up on the cage and AlQaisi chased after him, with Arnett leaving the arena before he could receive the belt. The rematch had to happen and it’s fortunate it could be booked so quickly.
AlQaisi had gone 3-0 in UAE Warriors including two championship wins before meetingArnett this year. The Jordanian went 0-2 in the UFC and has also fought for Brave CF and Titan FC. His opponent, the Canadian Arnett, is also a longtime UAE Warriors veteran and is 3-1 for them overall.
Co-Main Event and Rest of the Card
A second title is on the line as Josh Togo (11-4) of Lebanon fights Tahir Abdullaev (13-1) of Azerbaijan for the vacant welterweight title. Togo fought once for the UAE Warriors promotion in 2020, and has mostly fought for promotions in Australia. He is the former champion for Eternal MMA and trains out of XFC Australian Top Team in Sydney.
His opponent, Abduallaev, is also a one-time UAE Warriors veteran and has only been to a decision once in his career. Abdullaev has mostly competed in Russia for promotions like AMC Fight Nights and MMA-Series. Twenty-five years and training out of Baku, Azerbaijan, Abdullaev is one of the top prospects out of his country.
Also on the card is Dana White’s Contender Series alum Juan Puerta (23-6), who recorded a win last year but did not earn a contract. An impressive win from Puerta could earn him a contract with the UFC.
A veteran of Road to UFC, John Adajar (6-2), also fights at UAE Warriors 33. Adajar is a big name coming out of the Philippines and was the former welterweight champion for the Filipino promotion URCC.
