2023 PFL Challenger Series 2 Results

The 2023 PFL Challenger returns on Friday night with its second event of the calendar year. This week, women’s featherweight debutants will be on full display with a fight between Amanda Leve and Mongolia’s Naranjargal Tsend-Ayush set to headline the show. The event will emanate from a sound stage at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla.

Fight fans can catch the second week of this year’s PFL Challenger Series streaming live on Fubo TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Leve vs. Tsend-Ayush

Each week, a panel that includes a rotating celebrity guest will decide the night’s most impressive fighter. The chosen fighter will earn a spot in the upcoming PFL regular season for their respective weight class. The headlining fight between Leve (1-0) and Tsend-Ayush (2-0) should produce fireworks out of the top spot with both fighters unbeaten with a pair of finishes on their record.

Leve is an accomplished grappler who has competed against the cream of the crop in her weight division. The Philadelphian even owns a victory over Gabi Garcia from FloGrappling’s Who’s Number One Championship back in 2021. Tsend-Ayush, meanwhile, is expected to bring a grappling base of her own as a national judo champion with ample experience on the world’s stage.

Mishelle vs. Martins

Jeslen Mishelle will be taking on Evelyn Martins at a catchweight after Martins missed weight by 0.8 pounds. As a result, she will likely forfeit a portion of her purse to her opponent and likely be taken out of consideration to move on to this year’s PFL season. The 34-year-old Mishelle put together a 5-0 amateur career and has gotten her pro career off on the right foot with wins in each of her first two fights. She will fight a similarly experienced opponent in Martins, who is also 2-0 having earned both of her wins in the Titan FC cage.

Martins has been out of action since 2021, with three scheduled fights having fallen through between mid-2021 and the entirety of 2022.

Cataline vs. van de Veerdonk

Another style vs. style matchup will take place earlier in the show when Jackie Cataline fights Senna van de Veerdonk. Cataline, who has one rear naked choke submission win on her record, comes from a freestyle wrestling background, having competed at the national level.

The 22-year-old van de Veerdonk, meanwhile, hails from the Netherlands, a country that has traditionally produced elite kickboxing talent for more than four decades. Unlike many of her predecessors, van de Veerdonk came to MMA from a Judo background which she has effectively employed at the pro level of mixed martial arts. She has three armbars on her record and will be looking for a fourth against a fighter in Cataline who is comfortable from the top.

Montague vs. Woods

Opening the night will be a fight between Michelle Montague and Shaquita Amador Woods. Montague has competed at the Challenger Series in the past, impressing particularly as a grappler. The New Zealander comes from a submission grappling background and is perhaps the most experienced fighter on the cards with a 2-0 pro record and an 11-2 amateur record. Both of her amateur defeats came against Sabrina Laurentina De Sousa, a 13-0 amateur fighter who is yet to make her pro debut.

As for Montague, she will be opening Friday’s show against Woods, a training partner of former Bellator champion, AJ McKee, who will be making her professional debut.
