Tawanchai PK Saenchai and Superbon Singha Mawynn were supposed to meet at ONE Fight Night 15. However, an injury forced Superbon off the card and briefly halted the ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship matchup. On Friday, December 8, the highly-anticipated meeting will finally happen at ONE Fight Night 17 in Bangkok, Thailand, ONE Championship announced.

Mega Fight Back On for ONE Fight Night 17

With Superbon out, Tawanchai still competed at ONE Fight Night 15 but instead shifted sports to kickboxing. The featherweight Muay Thai king edged “Smokin’” Jo Nattawut by unanimous decision to extend his winning streak to six. Now, with another opportunity to defend his gold, Tawanchai eyes pound-for-pound glory.

The PK Saenchai representative wants to grab two-sport glory himself, but he must maintain his hold on the gold on December 8th. Tawanchai is considered to be a generational talent. His recent outings have done nothing to dispel that notion.

But Superbon is back in form. After losing his kickboxing title to Chingiz Allazov, Superbon stormed back into the win column against Tayfun Ozcan with a highlight-reel knockout. The Thai superstar is even more dangerous in four-ounce gloves and wants to grab his second ONE World Championship.

With both men shining in recent outings on the global stage, the main event for ONE Fight Night 17 is already promising to be a great way to end 2023. Tawanchai and Superbon are two of the greatest strikers on the planet today. This is a perfect main event to put a button on a wild year in Muay Thai.

ONE Fight Night 17 airs live on Friday, December 8th. The action begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers based in the U.S. and Canada.
